“Dareru Bar” translates to “Dance of the Letters”. The creator of the Armenian alphabet was Mesrop Mashtots. He was asked to create an alphabet to translate the Bible. The first letter he created was “Ayp” or the letter “A” which is the first letter in the word “Asdvadz” or God. This is why I chose to make the “Ayp” the most prominent image in this painting. The painting continues on the sides. This painting is being sold varnished and framed.
